Melany was born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised around the world. She was raised an only child in an isolated environment, surrounded by beauty and nature in a small town in Arkansas which caused her to entertain herself by making friends with crayons and paper.
After studying in Europe, she moved back to the United States. She pursued a degree in Graphic Design when she moved back to Arkansas to be with her family. Her mother didn’t want her to be a “starving artist” but, she still wanted to be in the creative industry. She decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue a degree in Advertising design at Otis College of Art and Design where she was awarded the Silver at the Otis Senior Show. It was Otis where she realized her talent could be translated in several different areas. Not only was she recognized for her ability to create with a pencil and paper, but through use of the computer and even ink and skin.
After graduating in 2007, she worked for advertising agencies in the creative department helping with print and web design as well as storyboarding. Painting has always been something under her belt so it came to no surprise that she picked up a job as a drawing and painting instructor at an art studio located in Santa Monica, CA. It was there where she created a reputation for the best and most requested instructor. Among other ways of branching out as a creative person, tattooing has also been a way to expand her capabilities as an artist. Not certain about what the world will throw her way, the goal is to take all her capabilities and roll with it.
